The 20th annual East Lansing Summer Solstice Jazz Festival is set for Friday, June 17 and Saturday, June 18 in downtown East Lansing. The Festival showcases a variety of jazz talent and styles spread out across several locations including the Main State at 230 Albert Avenue, the MSU Outreach & Engagement Education Stage on the Ann Street Plaza, and the Fieldhouse Craft Sports Bar at 213 Ann Street.

Seventh Annual Pumpstock Showcases Local and National Talent

The seventh annual Pumpstock Festival will take place Saturday, June 4th from 2:00pm – 8:00 pm at East Lansing’s Bailey Park. Pumpstock is an annual outdoor concert event that lets area residents hear nationally recognized musical acts in a fun, family-friendly setting.

The cost is a $10 suggested donation per adult, and kids attend free. All donations go to the artists.

MSU Arts and Crafts Show to be held this weekend

As we reported in our Weekend Roundup, The 52nd annual Michigan State University Arts and Crafts Show will be held this weekend in the area around the MSU Union. It will take place Saturday 9am-6pm and Sunday 10am-5pm. The twice-yearly event is put on by the MSU University Activities Board, with another event taking place every December.

Canadian journalist and author Naomi Klein spoke the evening of April 4th to a nearly full house in the Wharton Center’s Great Hall, on the Michigan State University campus. Before she came on stage, a giant screen behind the speaker’s podium announced her timely topic and ultimately hopeful thesis: “How climate change is going to change everything (for the worse—or the better).”
