Saper Galleries, long a fixture in downtown Easy Lansing, celebrated its 30th anniversary in downtown East Lansing on Friday, June 3. Asked how he got started, Roy Saper said, “I opened Saper Galleries in response to the community’s enthusiastic support of the gallery which I was previously operating out of my home at 429 Bailey Street, adjacent to downtown East Lansing.”

Just Love Revo LLC, a new East Lansing business located on Michigan Avenue, opened its doors on May 1. According to Morgan Underwood, owner, Just Love is a place of meditation, yoga, stretch, art, massage therapy, dance, animal rescue, worship, creativity, healing, individuality, peace, joy, happiness, and love.

JoyRide Pedal Tours Brings Party Bikes to East Lansing

Last Friday kicked off the first day of the annual East Lansing Art Festival, as well as the opening of JoyRide Pedal Tours. The business's two pedal bikes provided Festival-goers with complementary rides over the weekend, but JoyRide assures us that they are here to stay. The company will offer Mid-Michigan its very own party bikes to be used for customizable or pre-planned adventures in the Greater Lansing Area.

MSU Arts and Crafts Show to be held this weekend

As we reported in our Weekend Roundup, The 52nd annual Michigan State University Arts and Crafts Show will be held this weekend in the area around the MSU Union. It will take place Saturday 9am-6pm and Sunday 10am-5pm. The twice-yearly event is put on by the MSU University Activities Board, with another event taking place every December.

When local musicians are looking to gig around town, their best bet is usually any of Lansing’s established venues such as Mac’s Bar or The Loft. The vast majority of these venues’ concerts are put on by local booking agency Fusion Shows which was founded in 2008 by ELHS grad Irving Ronk (who has since left the agency) and Howell’s Nate Durough.
