Wrong Polling Location Information Disseminated
NOTE: The signage above is from City Clerk Marie Wicks and contains the CORRECT information.
UPDATE, November 3, 1:15 p.m.: We have found that Ruffin campaign literature with erroneous polling location information was also distributed in the Oakwood neighborhood (Precinct 3). Ruffin has said he himself has not found any evidence of incorrect information being distributed as he has followed-up on this issue. The City Clerk tells us she has not heard of anyone arriving at the wrong polling location. As a reminder, the easiest way to look up where you vote is to go here: https://webapps.sos.state.mi.us/MVIC/
Incorrect polling information has been disseminated in the Bailey neighborhood today according to a photograph we’ve received of a flyer from Jermaine Ruffin’s campaign. We are not reproducing the flyer because we don’t want to contribute to misinformation. The City Clerk’s office has been notified of the issue.
Contacted about the error, Ruffin told us by email, “It was a mistake made on our part and not done maliciously. We are pulling the materials as we speak. My fellow candidate Steve Ross notified one of our volunteers. So we appreciate him bringing it to our attention so we could correct it as soon as possible.”
