Walking Tour of Gideon Mendel’s Drowning World: Red Cedar River Project
MSU Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum, 1pm
Put on your walking shoes and join us for a special tour of Gideon Mendel’s Red Cedar River Project! Enjoy the autumn views along the Red Cedar River while learning more about Mendel’s Drowning World and why the location of these massive photos is relevant to the message of his work. The tour will depart from the Broad MSU’s Visitor Services desk and extend just beyond “the falls” behind the Administration Building on campus. This installation is a partnership with MSU’s Cultural Engagement Council, the organizing body behind this year’s thematic year of arts and cultural programming entitled Water Moves MSU. The year-long initiative fosters and celebrates cultural and artistic expression inspired by water including conservation efforts, scientific research, and sustainability.
