The City of East Lansing put out a call yesterday for volunteers to serve on the “Planning for Hannah Community Center’s Future” Advisory Committee. ELi reported last month on Council’s vote to form the committee, which will be charged with essentially figuring out how Hannah might be better used.

The Committee is set to include members from East Lansing’s Parks & Recs Advisory Commission, Planning Commission, Seniors’ Commission, and Arts Commission.

But the City Council is also looking to appoint four at-large members. Volunteers are sought with expertise in the following areas:

  • Construction
  • Architecture
  • Real estate development
  • Event planning
  • Facility management
  • Other facility or recreation/tourism-related fields

Residency in East Lansing is not required. Applicants should complete the standard board/commission volunteer form and send it to staff member Emily Gordon no later than January 25.
