Time2Play at Reno's East
Time2Play has one more gig before their annual summer hiatus. They return to the venue of Reno’s East in East Lansing. It will be sun and fun from 6-10pm so bring your sunglasses and suntan lotion. They are scheduled to play on the patio just like last year. But if the weather doesn’t cooperate they will move inside.
Time2Play GIG IS FOR THE BIRDS — literally. At the suggestion of fan, Mike Moquin, the charity for this gig is the Burke Lake Banding Station (BULA). The purpose of BULA is to integrate avian research with the training and education of current and future wildlife professionals and people of all ages about the diversity of wildlife in the mid-Michigan region by:
(1) Collecting long-term data on the health of the landbird community of the Rose Lake State Wildlife Research Area during breeding and migratory seasons,
(2) Providing MSU students the opportunity to be active participants in ongoing research and learn skills associated with capturing and handling of wild birds,
(3) Engaging with children of all ages with hands-on activities in a science-related discipline, and
(4) Providing a unique opportunity for bird enthusiasts in the Great Lakes region on state-managed land.
