UPDATE: 2:25 pm: According to a press release from the City of East Lansing, ELPD officers have now arrested a suspect. They have not yet released a name or other details.

East Lansing Police this morning are investigating the report of an armed robbery and sexual assault at an apartment complex in the 2500 block of Abbot Road, north of Lake Lansing Road.

Police responded shortly after 6 a.m. Friday to a call describing the suspect as a college-age black male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, who was wearing dark clothing that include a zip-up hooded sweatshirt and partial face covering.

According to the report, the suspect was armed with a silver revolver and is believed to be right-handed. He entered the apartment through an unlocked door and, while inside, physically and sexually assaulted three female victims before stealing an assortment of electronic items.

The victims required medical attention for non-life-threatening injuries sustained during the incident.
