The second East Lansing Family Aquatic Center Dog Swim will be held Saturday, Sept 9th. The event will run from 10am to 1pm. Tickets are $10 for residents and $12 for non-residents. No passes will be accepted.

The rules, according to a press release issued by the City of East Lansing, include the following:

  1. During the dog swim, no humans will be allowed in the pool.
  2. Each dog must have a valid license, a signed waiver and an adult 18 years or older to accompany them.
  3. Only one dog is allowed per owner and all humans are responsible for cleaning up after their dog.
  4. Unruly or aggressive dogs are not allowed, nor are puppies younger than four months old and dogs in heat.

The Aquatic Center pool features a zero-depth pool entry and a splash park as well as several slides. During the normal season EFLAC hosts open swims, swimming lessons, senior aerobics, lap swims, and party rentals. The pool opens in early June and closes at the beginning of September.

The dog swim takes place after the official end of the ELFAC season on Sept 4th. The pool will be drained, cleaned, and closed for the winter after all dogs have departed.

Further information can be found by calling 517-410-8493 and a printable copy of the waiver can be found here.
