Pump House Concert: Tom Mason and the Blue Buccaneers
Tom Mason and the Blue Buccaneers
Pump House Concerts
368 Orchard St, East Lansing, Michigan 48823
This pirate crew will be performing at the Tall Ships Festival in Bay City, but we've decided to kidnap them and make them walk the plank of the good ship Pump House. Arrrggg!!
Tom Mason & the Blue Buccaneers play with the fervor of the Pogues and the sensitivity of the Buena Vista Social Club. Their songs are all originals, but the mastery of the songwriting gives them the feel of classic sea shanties and world-worn ballads being performed in a pirate’s pub at the turn of the 18th century. “Red-hot resonator and slide guitar expert Mason is noted not only for his impressive playing but for his gritty songwriting and amiable stage presence”. - The Nashville Rage
Suggested donation $20
The Pump House is a neighborhood-run listening room located in the heart of the Bailey Neighborhood in East Lansing (368 Orchard St.). It is a converted water-pumping house built by the WPA in the 1930’s. This intimate atmosphere provides a comfortable and involving listening environment; it’s a very special way to listen to music.
We only sell tickets at the door. Suggested donation is almost always $15 (occasionally $20). All money goes to the musicians. We only do one show a month, almost always on Sunday evenings.
