An anonymous donor has generously stepped forward to propel ELi to our year-end sustainability campaign goal of $125,000! This new commitment is aimed at gaining additional community support for our public service news reporting in 2020 by offering a special tripling match.

Here’s how it works: For every “bundle” of donations from 3 people or more totaling $500, we will obtain the ongoing equal match from NewsMatch plus an additional $500 from our local donor. That means we can turn $500 in donations into $1,500!

Here’s what you can do to help:

  • Put out the call in order to pull together a group of donations that includes at least 3 people. (It can include more than 3 people!) Tell potential helpers why you believe ELi is worth supporting financially!
  • Get that group of donations to add up to $500.
  • Let us know you have a “bundle” by contacting us at and we will get it tripled!

Donors can contribute by check or credit card. You can gather the checks and deliver them to us, OR you can send us the names of the people contributing to your bundle so we know to add their donations to your bundle when we see them come in. Ways to donate are listed here.

To date, ELi has raised about $52,000 in donations and commitments, not counting funds pledged as match funds aimed at helping us raise more money. That’s great! But we still need your help to push us to the finish line by December 31, 2019.

Want to just make a donation on your own? We can immediately DOUBLE that thanks to NewsMatch!

As always, thank you for all you do for ELi!
