The City of East Lansing's FY19 Budget preparation kicked off with a presentation of the FY19-23 Financial Forecast at Council's discussion-only meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 20. 

Finance staff has since prepared the FY19 Preliminary Budget (PDF), which will be reviewed and discussed by Council at a series of open-to-the-public work sessions this April and May. View the meeting schedule below. Visit www.cityofeastlansing.com/meetings to view the agendas for these meetings.

The City Council is the legislative and policy-making body for the City government. Five Councilmembers are elected at-large for overlapping four-year terms. The Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem are appointed by the elected Council. The Council also appoints the City Manager, who is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the City government. They also appoint the City Attorney.

Gavel-to-gavel coverage of regular East Lansing City Council and Planning Commission meetings are streamed live, archived online and available via an on-demand playback option.  In addition, recorded meetings are televised and replayed on Channel 22 (WELG).
