Thanks to the success of our kick-off donation campaign, East Lansing Info (ELi) is thrilled to announce a redesign of our website and the introduction of weekly features!

Regular readers will still recognize the site as their favorite neighborhood resource, but will notice now there is an added column in the middle of the homepage where our feature articles appear. The left column features "latest news" not otherwise in the features feed. The right side continues to provide links to basic information about ELi.

Our regular features include:

Saturdays: City Of The Smarts, filling you in on East Lansing's exquisite geeky pleasures and brain-enhancing opportunities.

Sundays: Random Acts of Kindness, sharing news of just some of the wonderful philanthropic activities happening all around East Lansing.

Mondays: ELi on Earth, providing you news of East Lansing’s natural world, including the heavens, the weather, and our local flora and fauna.

Tuesdays: Ann About Town, a first-person travelogue of local goings-on from writer and bon vivant Ann Nichols.

Wednesdays: Council Capsule, a run-down of what happened at City Council the night before.

Thursdays: Show of the Week, filling you in on exciting upcoming entertainment in East Lansing.

Fridays: Ask ELi To Investigate, wherein we take questions from readers and assign a citizen-reporter (or a team) to investigate the answer.

Astute readers will realize that these features have actually been running for just over a week now. But with this homepage design change, the features will be presented front and center, with the current day's feature showing at the top of the list. You are now able to use tabs to go to pages that include all the articles under a particular feature category.

As with everything at ELi, we require, and in fact desire, the input of the greater East Lansing community. Feel free to drop us a line (via our contact page) and tell us how you like the new design and the features, and while you're at it, tell us what ideas you have regarding subjects for future feature articles. And consider joining the ranks of our citizen reporters. The more, the better informed!

ELi provides a unique mix of high-quality, community-based, nonpartisan, factual, opinion-free reporting about East Lansing that you won’t find anywhere else! But it depends on tax-deductible reader donations to function! If you believe in ELi's mission of providing editorial-free high-quality news of the people, by the people, and for the people of East Lansing, donate easily online to support us. You can also donate by check. All donations are tax deductible!
