Tonight's special meeting of Council begins at 6 p.m. in the courtroom at City Hall.
It will be followed by a discussion-only meeting of Council at 7:30 p.m.

The City Council is the legislative and policy-making body for the City government. Five Councilmembers are elected at-large for overlapping four-year terms. The Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem are appointed by the elected Council. The Council also appoints the City Manager, who is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the City government. They also appoint the City Attorney.

City Councilmembers:  Mayor Mark Meadows; Mayor Pro Tem Ruth Beier; Erik Altmann; Shanna Draheim; and Susan W. Woods.

The City of East Lansing provides a comprehensive online library of recorded public meetings, meeting documents and community videos.

Gavel-to-gavel coverage of regular East Lansing City Council and Planning Commission meetings are streamed live, archived online and available via an on-demand playback option.  In addition, recorded meetings are televised and replayed on Channel 22 (WELG).
