Carjack Attempt Fails at Local Gas Station

An attempted carjacking failed Saturday night after a man wielding a crowbar failed to force his way into a vehicle parked at the gas station on the corner of Abbot and Saginaw. UPDATE: ELi has confirmed that the incident occurred at the Marathon station.

There were no injuries.

According to East Lansing Deputy Chief Steve Gonzalez, the suspect was tracked by K9 unit but was not apprehended. The case is still under investigation by East Lansing Police Detectives.

A Nixle alert, sent at 11:08 on Saturday night described the suspect as a male of unknown race, approximately 6 feet tall, 200 pounds and wearing all dark clothing.
