Kozmic Picnik & Second Line Parade, East Lansing Summer Solstice Jazz Festival
12–3:30pm, Sculpture Garden
Join us on the lawn for an out-of-this-world musical experience! Unfold your blankets and expand your minds. Our friends at the Kerrytown Concert House in Ann Arbor have brought us some far-out talent for this year’s event. While enjoying the music, be sure the whole family visits our activity area to decorate parasols and handkerchiefs for the Second Line parade. Adorned as a traditional, New Orleans style Second Line, we’ll flaunt our custom made flair as we shuffle, stomp, and march our way up Grand River Avenue.

12–3pm: Activity Table: Parasols & Handkerchiefs
12pm: Tomeka Reid Trio
1:10pm: Ken Kozura Quartet
2:20pm: Universal Indians w/ Joe McPhee
3:10pm: Gabriel Brass Band, leading the BAM ‘Second Line’
