The East Lansing Board of Education is putting together a committee to study issues relating to its upcoming bond proposal and is seeking community members to help them.

The School District plans to ask voters to approve a bond in spring 2017 to pay for the necessary updates to the District’s elementary schools.

To apply to serve on the Committee, fill out this application. It is due Aug. 8. High school students are welcome to apply as well, said Gail Gillengerten, assistant to Superintendent Robyne Thompson.

The Committee will be reviewing current elementary facilities, historical data and past facility studies, and review enrollment projects and develop options for presentation to the Board on Nov. 28. They will meet weekly from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Aug. 25 through Nov. 17.

Members of the Committee will be chosen by the Board Trustees and notified by Aug. 19.
