The East Lansing Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. today to discuss and vote on a three-year contract hiring current Acting Superintendent Dori Leyko on a permanent basis.

The Board tabled approval of the contract on Monday, wanting the District’s legal counsel to review it first. A draft copy of the contract released yesterday outlined a plan to pay Leyko $145,000 for work from July 1, 2017-June 30, 2018.

Compensation would be raised to $147,500 for the 2018-19 school year, followed by increases to $150,000 for 2019-20 and $152,500 for 2020-21, if the Superintendent receives a rating of “effective” or “highly effective” in her annual review.

The full draft contract can be found here. The meeting today will be held in the Board Room on the lower level of the East Lansing High School.
