ASMSU announces East Lansing City Council Candidate Forum

Who: All three East Lansing City Council candidates: Mayor Pro Tem Ruth Beier, Councilmember Susan Woods, and MSU student Aaron Stephens.

What: East Lansing City Council Candidate Forum, an event where candidates will discuss important issues and their stances going into November’s

Why: In 2016, MSU campus precincts saw voter turnout rates as high as 80 percent. Students are more engaged than ever going into East Lansing’s 2017 City Council elections. Moreover, the citywide income tax ballot measure is sure to bring ample debate and discussion. In its continuous efforts to keep students involved and informed of important City issues, ASMSU’s candidate forum will provide another excellent opportunity for students and the surrounding community to learn about the potential City Council members that will represent them following November’s election.
