All of Us Express Children’s Theatre (AECT) presents “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” this coming weekend and next.

This classic story by C. S. Lewis is, according to the East Lansing Recreation & Arts website, “set in the land of Narnia,” and “faithfully recreates the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White Witch, and the adventures of four children who inadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting, never-to-be-forgotten Narnia.”

Volunteers Needed for EL Public Skating Rink

The City of East Lansing is seeking volunteers to help with the pop up skating rink to be installed this February in Valley Court Park. The rink is expected to be open for two weeks, from February 11 through February 25, and will be free and open to the public between the hours of 3-9pm as long as the weather allows. Saper Gallery to host Winter Creative Mixer tonight

This Thursday, Saper Galleries will open their doors from 5-7 PM to welcome East Lansing creatives for the Arts Council of Greater Lansing Winter Creative Mixer. The event, sponsored by The Greater Lansing Convention and Visitors Bureau, is free of charge, and attendees will be treated to complimentary snacks and beverages.

Gallery owner Roy Saper said the event will provide a platform for all types of creatives to network and collaborate.

A new type of gaming business will be opening downtown in the coming weeks: escape rooms. The for-profit business known as “ESC The Room” will be located in the basement of 301 M.A.C. Avenue (the northwest corner of M.A.C. Avenue and Albert Street).

Organized by May Erlewine Bernard, this benefit concert will feature Seth Bernard, Drew Howard, Max Lockwood, Steve Leaf, Drew Howard, John Hanson, Tony Roth and Joyce Walker, Micah Ling, Jen Sygit, Laura Bates, the Wilson Brothers, Joey Schultz, Erlewine, and others.
