Description: People who cannot prove lawful presence cannot currently obtain a Michigan driver’s license nor can they get a state ID.  Why we need them and the bills that will be introduced in the Michigan legislature to make them possible.  We are calling them “cards” to distinguish from regular drivers’ licenses, which can be used for more than driving--voting, for example.  Panelists include a person who would benefit and a representative of the agricultural industry who will talk about economic benefits. Organized by the Mid-Michigan Immigration Coalition.
