The City of East Lansing and Michigan State University have chosen the book selection for the 2017 One Book, One Community (OBOC) program: “A Long Way Home” by Saroo Brierley with Larry Buttrose.

Author Saroo Brierley will kick off the month-long OBOC program with a special community talk on Sunday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. at the East Lansing Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Road. Following his engaging remarks and a moderated question-and-answer session, Brierley will sign books for attendees. Door open at 6:30pm, seating on a first come basis.
On Monday Aug. 28 at 9 a.m., Brierley will address MSU’s incoming class at the Academic Welcome in the Jack Breslin Student Events Center, 1 Birch Road. Both events are FREE to the community.
